Metabolic wellbeing beyond the number on a scale

Metabolic health is usually assessed through a cluster of measures: blood pressure, fasting glucose or HbA1c, lipid fractions, waist circumference and liver markers. These describe how a body is functioning, which is a different question from how a body looks.

The interventions with the deepest evidence base remain dietary pattern quality, regular physical activity across both aerobic and resistance modalities, sleep, alcohol moderation and smoking cessation. Effect sizes for these, sustained over years, are substantial.

Pharmacological options exist and are appropriate for some people, prescribed and monitored by a clinician within a registered indication. That is a clinical decision made with a full picture of history, medication, and risk — not something to be arranged informally.

We deliberately publish no before-and-after imagery and no body-shaming language. Health is the outcome of interest.
